New Podcast - why the soil is so important
I talk a lot about healing the soil In today’s show, I explain some of the reasons which I will go over here:
The first reason is to bring back the essential microorganisms normally found in the soil. They are important in many ways to the health of the soil and in turn, the health of the plants and to the health of all living things. It is these microbes, bacteria, mycorrhizal, mycelium, that convert minerals into a usable form that plants can use. There are many different types of microorganisms, found in the soil with each type having specific tasks to perform.
Some have the job of finding nutrition in its raw form and converting it into a form that can be used by the plants. There are others that live on the root hairs of the plants. These receive from their co-workers the nutrition and they pass it on to the plants directly into their root hairs.
Only mother nature can provide plants with all the trace minerals and other nutrition that are needed by the plants. Humans cannot do this. It is important that all 96 different trace minerals are made available, miss just one and the plants will be open to attack from pests and diseases.
